Is the output the right size for a YouTube thumbnail?

The default canvas is widescreen 16:9. The downloaded dimensions depend on the model and resolution; resize the image to your required thumbnail size in an editor. Quick uses JPG, while Standard offers PNG output in the studio.

Can I get the text on a transparent background?

Quick offers experimental transparent PNG in the studio. Transparency has been checked on two low-quality 1K examples, not separately on every style; smoke, glow, and fine detail can leave semi-transparent edges. Standard and Pro currently retain a background, and image edits do not preserve transparency. For predictable transparent lettering with bundled font shapes, use Text to PNG at /tools/text-to-png. It creates new text graphics and does not remove backgrounds from AI images.

Can I use the thumbnail text on a monetized channel?

Yes. Images generated on Fontique are yours to use commercially, including monetized videos, channel banners, sponsored content, and merchandise. We add no watermark and require no attribution, so nothing gets in the way of your branding.

How much does thumbnail text cost to generate?

You get free credits when you sign up, and each standard image costs 100 credits at 1K. Creators who publish often can buy a credit pack from the pricing page. There is no subscription. Use credits within the validity period shown for your pack.

Thumbnail text has one job: be readable at the size of a postage stamp, next to fifty other thumbnails, in under a second. The Fontique YouTube thumbnail font generator is tuned for exactly that. It produces heavy, tightly spaced letters with thick contrasting outlines, hard drop shadows, and optional glow, then frames them in a widescreen 16:9 composition. Resize the downloaded image to the pixel dimensions required for your thumbnail.

The presets follow what actually performs. Classic Outline is white text with a thick black stroke, Yellow Impact goes bright yellow with a red shadow, Neon Pop adds a glow for gaming channels, Comic Burst puts the words in a jagged speech burst, and Clean Bold is a minimal look for tech and education.

If you are searching for the best font for YouTube thumbnail work, this is a faster route than trial and error. Choose the output format in the studio. Quick offers experimental transparent PNG; Standard and Pro currently retain a background.

FAQ

YouTube Thumbnail Font Generator FAQ

Heavy, tightly spaced sans-serif letters with a thick outline read best at feed size. Avoid thin, script, or highly decorative type, keep it to one to four words, and use strong contrast between the fill, outline, and background. The presets here follow those rules.

What this is based on

A letterform shape is not copyrightable in the United States, but the font file that draws it and the brand name that uses it can still be protected — so Fontique renders original lettering as images and never redistributes a typeface.
