Bring a reference, then refine the placement
This is a pixel image for discussing lettering, scale, and placement with your tattoo artist. It has no SVG paths, layers, editable text, or millimetre calibration. Your artist should redraw and check the final linework for its placement. The Stencil Outline sample is shown on white so its black lines stay visible; its original PNG retains the transparent canvas.
By Fontique EditorialPublished Updated
Chicano lettering grew out of East Los Angeles: single-needle fine-line script, elongated letterforms with dramatic swashes, and heavy blackletter that carries weight on the skin. The Fontique chicano font generator renders your name, phrase, or date in that tradition, drawing it in black and gray as if it were already inked, with the flourishes and connecting strokes that define chicano script.
Presets cover the main directions. Fine Line Script is delicate and flowing, Gangster Bold thickens the strokes into a heavy statement, Old English goes gothic, Filigree adds ornamental swirls and a small rose, and Stencil Outline produces a clean line drawing your artist can use as a reference.
It is built for tattoo previews, flash sheets, lowrider and streetwear graphics, and memorial pieces. Choose the output format in the studio. Standard and Pro currently provide references with a background. Quick offers experimental transparent PNG at the tested low-quality 1K setting, but the Chicano presets and stencil linework have not been separately verified for transparency. Fine Line Script is the classic chicano tattoo font for names and script pieces, while Gangster Bold is the preset people mean when they search for a gangster chicano lettering generator.

FAQ
Chicano Lettering Generator FAQ
Chicano lettering is a tattoo and street-art style rooted in Mexican-American culture in Los Angeles. It combines fine-line single-needle script, elongated letterforms with long swashes, and heavy Old English blackletter, usually in black and gray. Names, family words, and short affirmations are the classic subjects.
Yes, as a reference. Use the Stencil Outline preset for clean linework, download the HD PNG, and bring it to your artist. They will typically redraw it to fit the placement and your body, but the render gives both of you a clear starting point.
Quick offers experimental transparent PNG in the studio. Transparency has been checked on two low-quality 1K examples, not separately on every style; smoke, glow, and fine detail can leave semi-transparent edges. Standard and Pro currently retain a background, and image edits do not preserve transparency. For predictable transparent lettering with bundled font shapes, use Text to PNG at /tools/text-to-png. It creates new text graphics and does not remove backgrounds from AI images.
Yes. Images you generate are yours to use in commercial projects, including apparel, flash sheets you sell, shop signage, and social content. There are no watermarks and no attribution requirement, so the lettering can go straight onto a shirt or sign.
You get free credits when you sign up, and each standard render costs 100 credits at 1K. Try a few presets on your name, then buy a credit pack from the pricing page if you want more. There is no subscription. Credit packs have the validity period shown on the pricing page.

What this is based on
A letterform shape is not copyrightable in the United States, but the font file that draws it and the brand name that uses it can still be protected — so Fontique renders original lettering as images and never redistributes a typeface.
