polished chrome letters with razor spikes on the outer letters, mirror bevels, stadium-tour shine
By Fontique EditorialPublished Updated
The Metallica font that fans want to type in is the classic thrash logo look: sharp angular capitals, the first and last letters stretched into long, jagged spikes, hard chrome bevels catching a cold light, and a stark black-and-silver palette that has defined heavy metal design for four decades. Fontique does not distribute that typeface or reproduce the band logo. Our AI renders your own name as an original heavy metal logo inspired by that language.
Presets give you different eras of the sound. Spiked Chrome is the polished stadium look, Thrash Ink is the raw black-and-white flyer style, Lightning Strike arcs electricity between the spikes, Fire Forged heats the metal to a glowing edge, and Blackened Steel goes dark and matte.
Use it for band logos, gig posters, merch mockups, playlist covers, and concert countdown graphics. Download the complete artwork as PNG or JPEG. This is a fan-made tool and is not affiliated with the band.

FAQ
Metallica Font Generator FAQ
No. Fontique does not provide the band typeface or reproduce its logo. This is a fan-made generator that renders your text as an original heavy metal logo inspired by that spiked, chrome-beveled look. What you download is a unique AI image, not a font file.
Yes. Images you generate are yours, and spiked metal lettering is a genre convention you can use commercially on merch, posters, and releases. The band name and logo themselves are trademarks of their owner, so do not use them or imply any endorsement.
Quick offers experimental transparent PNG in the studio. Transparency has been checked on two low-quality 1K examples, not separately on every style; smoke, glow, and fine detail can leave semi-transparent edges. Standard and Pro currently retain a background, and image edits do not preserve transparency. For predictable transparent lettering with bundled font shapes, use Text to PNG at /tools/text-to-png. It creates new text graphics and does not remove backgrounds from AI images.
The Metallica wordmark is hand lettering, not a typeface you can legally install from a free-font dump. Fan “Metallica” fonts exist and are unofficial. This page renders your band name as original scratched-metal lettering in an HD PNG. Free credits on sign-up; 100 credits per Standard image.
Thrash Ink and Blackened Steel are the safest for screen printing because they rely on high contrast and few colors. Spiked Chrome and Fire Forged look great on posters and digital covers, where gradients and glow reproduce fully.

What this is based on
A letterform shape is not copyrightable in the United States, but the font file that draws it and the brand name that uses it can still be protected — so Fontique renders original lettering as images and never redistributes a typeface.
